Hi fashionistas,
Women and jewelry are inseparable companions since time immemorial. It makes her look
unique & beautiful , makes her happy. She feels complete whether it’s that tiny
pair of pearl teardrops or heavy junk jewelry! So, as the name suggests this
blog is dedicated to all the women who love jewelry-junk jewelry in particular
, pieces that I've collected so far & about this genre of jewelry in
general.
Earlier , jewelry only meant real
gold,silver,diamonds,pearls along with
precious stones and gems. But now concepts and perceptions have changed
and a whole new branch in jewelry- THE JUNK JEWELRY is the craze amongst women
of all ages. Although for weddings and festivals ,people still prefer real
jewelry, but, there are many women who embrace the junk jewelry more than
happily !!
So what is Junk jewelry?? Basically it is any kind of
jewelry that is made of semi-precious stones, oxidized metals and a variety of
other materials like -terracotta,wood,ivory,shells,cloth,plastic,jute,wire,glass,beads,etc.
It includes everything from bangles, neck pieces, earrings, rings to
nose pins, armlets, anklets and a lot more!! It can be wild & bold, harmonious
& dainty or colorful & eclectic. It is a whole range of unpredictable
and experimental jewelry. It also includes a lot of interesting tribal jewelry
influenced by the various tribes that resides in the interior parts of all the
countries-which I absolutely love!!
Junk jewelry can be seen everywhere from street hawkers ,
high street brands to designer brands and a lot of it is available online like www.junk.com, www.donebynone.com
, www.koovs.com, www.faballey.com , www.babybaniya.com, www.jabong.com, www.myntra.com,
etc. This genre of jewelry has been substituting the traditional ones at a very
fast pace!
Why is junk jewelry gaining so much popularity???
· -- Abundant availability- in quality, style and
color giving a unique look to every woman.
· -- It is more trendy, contemporary & light
weight and at the same time doesn’t compromise on the aesthetic appeal.
· -- It is way more cost effective and affordable. In
the same budget, one can buy more number of pieces of these junks and look
prettier each day.
· --And most importantly , you don’t need lockers to
keep them safe and can put them on anytime you want to without being afraid!!
This kind of jewelry can be adorned for grand parties,
weddings , festivals to even elegant, simple casual outings. Any woman can go
gaga over Junk jewelry and bid adieu to the traditional ones easily.
